I'm Currently Feeling: | Can my work really do this???!!! RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHHHHH!!! I'm soooooo mad!! I'm sorry if this is the wrong section to post this but i didn't know where else to put it.
So, i'm going on maternity leave Mid Sept and they're getting in a temp to cover for me. I thought i'd be a bit crafty and log onto job websites and see if my job had been advertised yet. Anyway, i found it and much to my horror, they've advertised the salary as £23,000-£25,000 per annum. This is a total f-ing insult considering i'm only on £18,000 per annum.
Are they allowed to do this????
Thanks. xxxxxxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Technically yes, they can offer what they like. However it's hardly fair. They obviously are aware that you are underpaid. Have you ever asked for a raise or been reviewed? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I agree. They can do this. but i would be pissed about it. Why not have a quick word with your manager. Hardly seems fair. I know my temp is actually getting less than what i do. But in the council we work on a grade/scale scheme XxX |

I'm Currently Feeling: | They can do it but it isn't really fair! Have you asked for a pay review? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | OMG. I just cant believe that they can actually do this! I bet they wont advertise it for £18,000 because they know full well no one will go for it! I last had a payrise 6 months ago. I started off here as an Administrator, then when they MD's PA left they offered me the position and i jumped at the chance. I had my review after 3 months (which was 6 months ago) and they put me upto £18,000. I knew this was below average for what other PA's were earning in my area and i was a bit disappointed but i absolutely love the company and the job that i thought i'd stick with it.
I just feel really let down to be honest. I work really hard and get on with everyone really well. And they're quite willing to offer a complete stranger that knows nothing about the company and job £23,000 a year while i'm still stuck struggling on £18,000 |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Ask to meet with your Manager and bring it up with them. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yeah I would bring it up. Perhaps they would like to give a £4k rise when you return to work! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I would bring it up wouldn't hurt - the only thing they might say is that they will pay this for someone with a few years experience and reduce it for less experience if that makes sense? |
