I'd deffo bring it up hun and asky why BUT i wouldnt worry too much, if its just to cover your mat leave its only going to be a temp contract anyway!!

like polo-princess said, its a temp contract while ur away, so it needs to be worth while for the temp cos they don't get any holiday pay, but i would defo bring it up with ur manager that u had a quick look and u don't think its fair.
