No thank goodness, the lady took one look at him and said she could see for herself that he hadn't been beaten. She asked if we had fallen out with any of our neighbours as she thinks that's why they were probably called. She said she was happy to right the whole thing of as a hoax. I felt a bit sorry for her tbh as she looked a bit embarrassed that she'd had to bother us and upset me and the kids. Thankfully Archie seems completley oblivious to all the upset!

She said that he was obviously a very happy pup and she seemed a bit annoyed that someone would say otherwise. She also said that if he had have taken a beating he would be nervous of everyone and that Archie certainly wasn't frightened of anyone as he came bounding up to see her and get some fuss off of her. I will never understand how the human race works it appears that nobody can come out unscathed by the nasty people of this world. I just hope we never have to go through this again and I wish I knew which of my rotten neighbours did this awful thing I thought they were all really friendly just goes to show doesn't it. x

That's really terrible! And doubly awful given the number of times we've tried to get people out to see about mistreated animals (like the dog a few doors down that is old and tatty and left to roam the streets all day long, pooing everywhere and at risk of being run down; or the many many many strays we've found over the years). The RSPCA always tell us it's the council's job and of course they don't do anything about anything.

In our old house we were always picking up strays and taking them to the police station. Luckily it was really close by and they had kennels for their dogs they could keep the strays in until they could be taken to a home.

You should put your puppy's poo through the neighbour's letterbox when no-one's around.

That thought had crossed my mind but unfortunatley the call made to the rspca was anonymous so we can only guess it was this particular neighbour. My husband has told me that whilst I was at work this evening he could have sworn he heard them barking out of their window trying to wind Archie up. Why are people so mean he's not doing anyone any harm. I'm a firm believer of what goes around comes around so I know that they'll get theirs but it doesn't make me feel any better.
