I don't think these women just got pregnant through prostitution and decided to keep it and hadn't bothered using birth control, I think they are pregnant and are prostituting for money (as do all prostitutes).

It's very sad that women are forced into sex careers but I will always blame the men not the women. Without men and their odd fetishes women wouldn't be able to have careers like this, and generally they are there because of terrible circumstances leading them to this stage in life. I'm sure they'd all rather have happy family lives with nice jobs.

And as to why men find them attractive, well forgive me, but don't we most of us go on about feeling fat and horrible and are happy when our OHs think we look totally beautiful carrying a child? Of all the sexual things men like to pay women for I don't think being pregnant is the height of distaste.

I'm with you, Peanut. I don't think we should judge or blame these women without knowing their circumstances. It is a very rare thing to find a prostitute that "chooses" this lifestyle. Dire poverty, drug addictions, and all sorts of horrendous abuse are usually arm-in-arm with women in this situation. Compassion and support will have far better results than judgement and derision. Let's just hope that the fact that these particular women were busted gives them a chance to break the cycle and help those unborn children have happier lives.

I'm with both peanut and sarahkka on this one. I thank my lucky stars I have not felt in a position to prostitute myself for money. Although I was approached at uni and 'offered' a job being a call girl - 'extras' were at my discretion!!!!

Those girls need help, education, support and guidance and hopefully with a court case looming the judge will see this and subject them to a community order where they will then receive that intervention. Whilst appropriate authorities monitor the safety of the unborn child.

I agree - I hope the outcome will offer these women the support they need. They have been let down by society.
