I wouldn't think black for a bridesmaids dress...but it really depends on the theme of the wedding and the dress itself

I wanted to get married in black or scarlet but OH dident much like the idea, so i wore white.
Personally i think black bridesmaids dresses would really compliment a bride in white.

The bridesmaids dresses I want are in black, with the brides dress white with some black trimmings. The b/maids dresses have a lil white on them. I think it'd be gorgeous

I've seen black bridesmaid dresses at a wedding and they're lovely. I think you'd have to be so careful, I definately wouldn't go for full length in black, I'd have to have just below knees/calf length. You'd also have to be so careful not to 'overdo' it too, just really simple & plain teamed with very simple & elegant accessories would be gorgeous.

Black and white weddings are all the rage now, I think it is beautiful my friend had one, her bridesmaids were in black with white trimmings and she was in white with black trimmings, she also had all in guests in black and white and it was so cool. If I ever get married again I am doing it !!!! lol

Black is very fashionable at the moment, I've seen loads of "black and white" wedding ideas in magazines.
I think it could look cool, as long as it suits the bridesmaids too and they don't end up looking like Morticia Adams!
