Ok after watching Eastenders with Peggy being engaged to Alfie which I THINk is her ex husbands brother and also with Tanya now being with Jack after being married to Max it got me thinking-

If you was in the shoes of the son/daughter of the parent doing this how would you feel about it, would you accept it easily or do u think it is too confusing for the whole family and that it shouldnt happen

There is two reasons that I am interested, one just coz Im nosey and the other is that it may happen to me in the future I can possibly see it coming

I think it depends on the age of the child really. I think if a child is really young then they may not fully understand the situation so will be less confused about it whilst they stay young. Children that are old enough to understand the situation may be uncomfortable about it (like Lauren and Abby in Eastenders). I dunno, is a kinda confusing situation.

Dunno, i was thinking the other way around, the little ones might get confused because he used to be uncle and now he step daddy, were as the older ones might just be glad that you've found somone to be happy with.
Either way, i suppose it depend on the situation really. No relationship is easy at the start.
