I'm Currently Feeling: | Drama in our street last night (quite long) A new family moved into the house that backs onto ours about 2 months ago. Mum, dad, son ( 8 ) and daughter (7). Seemed okay, if a little odd. They have no furniture, spend all the time in the kitchen, still have no curtains (they have a cardboard box at their bedroom window at night!), the boy goes to boarding school, yet the girl was enrolled in the local primary. Bit strange, but each to their own.
Then at 11:45 last night, I was woken to an almighty scream! The boy had ran out the back gate and was screaming down the street "it burns, it hurts" The dad chased him and dragged him back in the house. The noise brought loads of the neighbours out, and 2 women went into the back garden asking if they wanted any help. The dad replied that it was okay, the boy had fallen over and cut himself badly and he was taking him to the hospital. He was running in and out of the house trying to find his car keys. He managed to wrap the boys hand up in a towel and the neighbours helped him in the car. I then saw him shut and lock the back door - strange I thought as his wife and daughter were in there, although I hadn't seen his wife at all. Then about half hour later, the place was swarming with police! She couldn't/wouldn't let them in and would only talk to them through the window! She just kept saying she hadn't got a key. I gave up then and shut the window and went back sleep.
My neighbours just been round and filled me in on the details as she went out there. Apparantly when she was putting the boy in the car, he kept asking if his mum was okay? And saying that he tried to stop her, that was how he was hurt. She checked and he had a massive deep gash on his palm - he said caused by a kitchen knife! After they had gone to hospital, she went round the front and the mum was mopping up blood in the kitchen, and her arms were pouring with it!!!!!!! My neighbour is the one who called the police, and said there were 4 cars and an ambulance. It took them over an hour to get in the house, and when they did, it turns out she was slashing her arms with a knife and the boy had tried to stop her! They took her away in the ambulance!
The dad and the kids are at home now, but there is no sign of the mum.
I can't stop thinking of those poor little kids. Watching their mum do that, and then the boy trying to stop her. Makes me shudder to think of it. |
