Nowadays if something like that happened you'd have parents running to the press to make other parents aware that suchandsuch resort isn't safe and you shouldn't let you're children out of arm's length and how terrible it is these days. Bad things will happen regardless of how much cotton wool you wrap your child in. | bloody hell! do you remember any of it?
I completely agree there are just as many sick people out there today as there was ten years ago, twenty years ago and so on it is just we hear of it more in the media these days and scare the living beejeezus out of us all. I mean the closest we ever got to hearing about kidnappings was down the local newspaper shop and the police used to put pictures up saying to kids if you see this man do not approach him/get in his car etc. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yes, I remember all of it. I was very lucky, I was apparently gone for about an hour.
It's a terrible thing when children go missing, but there is a bigger culture of fear nowadays that is created by the media. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I wish I could be 9 or 10 again.
Playing out all day, buliding dens, always getting home just in time for tea - even with out a watch!! Walking for miles to but not really going anywhere, going on bike rides on my brothers old BMX, breaking too hard & going over the handel bars. Camping out with friends on my front garden (did anyone else do this?)
I was always scared of being told off by my parents/grandparents, I always done as I was told. There was a report on the news yesterday saying X% of teenegers don't respect their parents.....how bad is that...apparently they have nothing in common and their parents are so 'old fashioned'??
Oh to be free and careless again.... |
