I'm Currently Feeling: | NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate... Hello,
We usually get a NHS Tax Credit exemption certificate, it expired in June and we haven't received a new one. Before I ring up, I thought id ask if anyone here knows why - is it because our working tax credits have stopped as our income is above 15k??
Just asking as was thinking ahead, and will need to take Folic Acid when TTC.. was just reading that it's cheaper to buy than it is to get from the doctors?
Thanks! |

| You only get exemption card if you are in receipt of working tax credits.
Once your income is over £15K and you just get childrens tax credit you are not exempt from NHS charges.
Just pray you don't need a prescription as they are now £7 something.
Will also have to pay for dentist, & opticians too. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I thought everyone with kids under a certain age was entitled to them?!!?
Im probably wrong though.
If your not entitled, there is this annual certificate thing you can buy, my mum and dad got one a few years ago because they where paying a fortune for repeat persciptions.
Oh and you can get 2 tubs of folic acid from poundland....for a pound!!!! (you'd never of guessed would you) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | They must be pretty relaxed at my docs then.
Went in today and got given a prescription. Doc asked if I paid for them and I said "I don't know. I'm technically unemployed now, do I?" He says "Do you get tax credits?" (Didn't specify child or working BTW) so I say "Yes". Bingo free prescription. |
