my mom called me the other day telling me the new thing to do now is for the husbands to purchase gifts for the wife after the baby is born...

| Flowers are pretty common, I think, but some people do jewelry, etc.
Personally, I don't expect anything, as my "present" is going to be the support and involvement of my husband in the delivery. I think this is something that we are doing together, even if I do the physical part. Then there's the baby at the end of it all: another "present" that will probably overshadow any other gift that might happen.
It's about the sharing the experience for us, not about gifts. But that's us. Your wife might really appreciate a gift of some kind. I don't think it's an expected thing, though. Certainly not written down in the Husband and Wife Etiquette Book!  |
