Curling tongs

Ihave long curly hair, but sometimes I feel my curls need a little help, the odd one will be mishapen or drop out to a wave etc or just go a bit frizzy.
Call me dumb but what is the differnce between a curling tong like this

and one without the spiral bit like this

Im a bit thick!

nothing really, the first one is easier to use as you just guide the hair around teh spiral bit, but you have to do it to the shape thats on teh curler.

The second one means you have to spiral your hair yourself, its also better for if you want bigger lose curls or lots of tighter ones.

Also they seem to do them in all differnt mm, lik 13mm and 26mm etc, is that the barrel width? are some better for longer hair than others, cause Ihave some crap old ones that take a decade to heat, that are like the second pic, but cause my hair is so long, I can only get the bottom half of a section of hair on the curler!

The bigger size is for looser barrel curls for about your legnth hair and the one with the guider is for tighter barrel curls.

The second one you can decide if you want tighter curls or looser ... the bigger the curler the bigger the curls gives it more of a wave.

I'd grab the second one for your hair or you will be there all day doing your hair hun lol!

The only thing you need to think of is.

Longer hair is heavy and if you use loose curls they may fall out, tighter curls will drop with time too, so not all styles will stay all day. I havve very long very thick hair and if i curl it using the tongs i tend to use tight ones in the morning, for looser curls in the evening.

Hope that helps
