as some of you might know, we've got a bit of a feud going on with the neighbours atm. they've had their roof done and our house and garden and everythin got covered in shit. we played loud music to piss them off (immature i know), he came round had a blazing row with OH, which i hid from cos i dont like confrontation! but i believe it went along the lines of, you get shit on our stuff, we play loud music; you drill, we play loud music. and then he told him to FO and get back to his own house.

So next door sent us a letter basically sayin its a bit petty and tit for tat, think of the health of the baby cos of the loud music!! and had a go for playing Mozart loud (i had it playing on my laptop that afternoon and theres no way it was loud!!). he also went as far as to say if we stopped putting our music on loud then he'd turn a blind eye to the baby crying in the night - well out of order lol!!

Oh yea and he put £20 in with the letter so we could get our windows cleaned!

i was just gona send them a card and a bottle of wine with the£20 back inside sayin sorry for everythin etc, but OH wants me to write a letter back and forget the bottle of wine cos he dont think they drink anyway! i thought sayin sorry was enough cos it shows we know we're in the wrong etc etc???

I would try and resolve it as soon as possible - you really don't want this nonsense carrying on with a child.

lol having realised what a bad bad neighbour i sound i sent oh round with a card, minus a letter, just couldnt see what the point in the letter wa other than to keep the feud goin on longer. just go to wait for their kids to come back and start running up the stairs, their wooden floored stairs grrrrrrrr!!!!

I'd take it with good grace, maybe have them over for dinner... why? 'cos you may well need their help in the future... give it until baby comes along and then pop round if their kids are hammering on the floors, be apologetic but explain the sound is keeping baby screaming... watch them bollock the kids then!

I know its hard to bite your tongue, but its the best policy - I suspect that they're wanting a happy and peaceful co-existance too, hence the peace offering...

went out earlier and when we got back mr nextdoor was out doing some gardening and he smiled and said hi, so no hard feelings there then! so happy cos i was hating the thought of feuding for ages!!

oh i wouldnt have been able to do that haha, i hold grudges for so long, i wouldve sent a snotty letter back
