In my sisters room (she recently moved in with me), there is a window which opens outwards. However, it is on a child lock so doesn't open very wide. It has a small ledge, and her bed is just off to the side of this window. Her bedroom is upstairs.
So she has her window open on the child friendly setting as it's baking hot here, and gets up from reading her book to go downstairs. I'm in the next room and hear an all mighty banging and clattering coming from her room.
I rush next door, and there is my RETRIEVER (not a small dog) trying to get to the window by balancing on the edge of the bed and the window ledge. I tell him to get down, and he takes a look at me and decides to launch himself out of the window with much glee on his face and a lot of effort to wedge himself out the small opening. I lunge for him, but not in time and watch as he plummets two stories to the ground! He gets up, a bit dazed and then bolts off in pure, unadulterated happiness that he has found a new way to 'escape'.
So he was completely unhurt, but my god did it scare me. On top of that I had to spend 45mins trying to catch him afterwards as he would run within a few inches of me then bolt off again.
Would anyone like him? Free to good home, but I have a feeling I'd have to pay someone!
