want to get rid...but I feel guilty!

of my cat! She's driving me up the wall! We had to get new carpets becuase she plucked it loads and wrecked it at the top of the stairs! and she's started to pluck the new carpet.

She wakes us in the night scratching at the door and plucking the carpet, so I get up to stop her and this wakes Ella up!

Iv been putting her out at night coz she wakes us, but I feel bad coz its so cold.

We've had her for years, shes about 7 now, she does nothing but eat and sleep and shit lol and I have no feelins towards her atall she just does my head in! Plus OH hates cats and wants me to get rid. I want her re homed, but I just cant bring myself to do it cxoz I feel guilty!

Its probably best for her she'll get more attention and wont get chased around by a toddler!

what would you do ? anyone have any links of where I could take her, we have an RCPCA near us but couldnt find any info on the site.

I think you have a freecycle for warrington, try on there? you can email back anf forth with whoever is interested and get a feel for them. Plus you can put in the ad anything specific for a new home, like no kids for example.

do you know any old ladies that would like a pet cat? or put an ad in a local paper free to good home.

We had to rehome our cat because Noah was allergic. But we had a friend who took him in.

If you contact an organisation see what their policy is with distrying animals as soom will only try to rehome them for o so long before putting them to sleep. And if this is an adult moggy you have they can be very hard to find new homes for, as people tend to want kittens or pedegrees.

Laura there is a Cats Protection League Shelter near the RSPCA. They are much better at rehoming! Both my moggies came from there. I would have it myself but I already have two and OH feels the same about them as your OH and he would kill me!

You can also try dog pages!

Personally i would not rehome on freecycle it a place not to fill up landfill.
And to be honest any one could give you a sob story and then dump or sell your cat on, i dont trust some people on freecycle they are on it to make money.

I really would recommend the cats protection league - in our area every one gets home checked.

Or ask at a local vet, it may be best to rehome some where further away or you could end up with the cat on your door again!

Good luck, it does sound like she might be better in a new house with someone who has the time to look after her.

Thats one reason we have no pets at the moment - as all of my time is devoted to Ewan.

thanks for your replies been a big help, I think I'll call cats protection league, I'd be a bit weary about freecycle tbh. She'd be lovely company for an old person.Theres a vet around the corner I might put an ad in ther bfore I try cats protection. Im worried she'd be put down somewhere like that!and I dont want that

Vets i have worked with have been very good about rehoming animals and have rarely put something down, often they have a list of people looking for animals.
