Thats terrible!

In Russia for example, women have an average of 2-10 abortions.

And as much as I don't agree with late abortion because I find it a horrible procedure you just have to agree that the number of children in the system is sky rocketing!

I currently work in a children's centre as a supervisor for the interaction between children and their possible foster/adoptive parents.
And I have to tell you,not many go down the route of adoption.

Why?
Because it is an exhausting procedure and very long lasting! And the age limit for adoptive parents is 40. People at that age are still trying to concieve one of their own.

Now,foster parents is another story, those are mostly people who are just relying on money from the government(of course there are many who are actually trying to help).

Actually many people in US will go on to adopt little girls from China(there are tons of abondoned little girls there because they have a 'one child policy' and they prefer boys) because the procedure is much more simple than over here.

BUT,it's much different when a woman decides in pregnancy that her child will be put up for adoption and finds a couple while she is still pregnant, then they are involved in the pregnancy and take the baby home from the hospital.
When a woman simply dumps the baby in the hospital, that baby will find a home a little harder.

But of course, baby's and newborns have a higher chance of being adopted.
When a 3 year old ends up in the system,he will most likely stay there and thats how your statistics are made...

Contraception isdefinitely a vital component and should be displayed more and talked about more!

The woman that had 5 kids & is a heroin addict she be sterilised so she cant put anymore children through this, she is a heartless woman who only cares about herself.
I feel so sorry for all the children who are either left orphaned or put in to care by 'parents' who couldnt give a toss about them.
Its hard the fact that some kids age out bcus as we all know when you decide to adopt you want a newborn so they grow up thinking you are there parents x
My mum would love to foster but she is quite an emotional person (like me) & I think it would kill her to hear some of the things these children have been through & she would find it hard when they had to leave x
If I couldnt have children I would def look into adoption x

My friends are going to be fostering disabled children before they try for their own. They think its only right that they do something to help. They're fantastic people. The problem is that its going to take them all in all around 18months - 2years before they will get their first child. I know that the system has to be sure that they are taking on the right people, but that must put a large amount of people off doing it!

Jut jumping in this thread...I work in operating theatres and do gynaecology day surgery where we can do from 6 up abortions everyday...some days we have a whole day list of around 20 odd....its heartbreaking for me ttc and seeing these ladies coming in for this to be done....although I dont judge their reasonsthat range from using terminations as contraception to being let down by contraception or in a situation where it wasnt their descision (ie Rape) But we do get alot of 14 years and up in who just dont bother with contraception.

Anyways...one of our surgeons said they thought girls should get fitted with the coil or implanon at school age and only get it removed to be changed or when they want to ttc...I think its quite a good idea but due to coils needing to be renewed every 3-5 years same with implanon some people would probably just not bother...

Its so sad so many children arent given the best of starts in life like drug addiction in the womb and sometimes have disabilities because of irresponsible mothers to then be in care for their whole lives....its so sad

But its a basic human right to be brought up by loving people.. who ever they maybe..

Just thought Id share
As weird as it does sound

I really do get the concept of what your saying!!!
I think however what Emma said about a compulsory coil or something may well be a better option

Then again on the other hand I would disagree with this cos my LO wasnt planned as such but Im still old enough to know what bringing up a child entails!!! More statistics I know but a vast majority are not PLANNED!! Yet theres a big grey area surroundin unplanned vs unwanted!! If Im making sense lol!!!
