parents 25th wedding anniversary

Please could I have your opinions ladies and gents?

It's my parents 25th wedding anniversary this year. They've had no time together, just them two, since my brother came home from hospital after his accident - he came home 3 years ago. My mam is his full time carer.

What I was thinking of doing was sending Mam and Dad to a hotel for the night, evening meal, bed and breakfast and me and DH going over to theirs for the night and staying with my brother.

It'll cost more than I intended on spending on them for their anniversary, but it will give them some time where it's just them 2, - the first time they've had that in over 3 years.

What do you think? Good idea or a bit iffy?

That would be a lovely prezzie hunni.
And what I think you should do with the tickets to the hotel.. is...
Get a cardboard box, Stuff it with shredded paper, bury the tickets & wrap the box.
They'll think they've got something really big, hehe.
Would be nice to see their faces too. x

What a lovely idea hun I am sure they will be over the moon with it! Go on to lastminute as they can have some really good packages on their for nights away x

For my parents 25th we paid for them to have a car pick them up from home and take them to the west end to see a matinee and paid for their lunch too then whilst they were out we organised a surprise party for when they got back.

Anything you do will be thoughtful and appreciated by your folks xx

Thanks ladies.

I've booked them into a local 4* hotel, BBEM

the thing is though I've had to tell them what i've done (but not where or given any details) because I didn't want them to make other plans for that weekend.

Going down to pay for it today or tomorrow.

They did plan on going to Hawaii for 2 weeks until my brother had the crash, and with my brother being the way he is and me being the way I am, it wouldn't be a great idea to send them away for a long weekend let alone a foreign holiday.

Kinda hoping that they'll take advantage of the night away and book themselves tickets for a show or something too, but I doubt that they will. lol
