I purged my shoe closet. I separated my old shoes in tree catagories: donatable, recyclable (old athletic shoes) and burnable waste. I´m all for donating, but this purge I compacted those 17!!! year old leather boots:

as small as possible into the garbage bag together with the non-recyclable kitchen waste. Not worn them for about 10 year, pretty stiff old leather (bad leather for crafting) ...think those old leather boots were less recycling friendly and not worth to donate. 17 year old ...Ewwwwwww!!! They were unhygienic garbage. Just because people are in need doesn't mean they should have to settle for some one else's uncomfortable leftovers. Even shoes that look to be in good shape, after you've worn them for a while, they shouldn't go to anyone else. They've molded to your own feet, and won't fit anyone else properly, and possibly cause problems for them. I am really not a throw awayer, but IMO those 17 year old leather boots were burnable waste catagory of old footwear and NOT donation items. Do you agree with me? Well done or not? I am a "green" mom. Please reply
