Help please, my friend might be in danger!!!!!!

O.k im worried and maby just a bit paranoid.

O.k my friend has very high blood pressure she has had it since she was 11 years old, now we found out on friday she is 5 weeks pregnant but she has become very ill now, her blood pressure is 156/109 and she just want's to faint the whole time.....

Is there anyone out there that can give me advice on how this could all end up being a good ending..

I think doctors are pretty experienced in that area (It's called Pre-Clampsia). Women with high blood pressure go on to have healthy babies!! Just try and help her to stay hydrated, eat well and calm if you can.

Check out this website hun: http://www.preeclampsia.org/

aww jacky so sorry to hear that!! No wonder your so worried about your friend!! I really hope some other girls have some stories for you to ease your mind!!

high bp however doesnt always mean pre-eclampsia... especially at this stage of her pregnancy!! She will def be treated as high risk therefore be under the best care!!!
I hope she shows signs of improvement

Hi jackie,
I had my b/p done 2 weeks ago and it came back at 149/113 which as you know is extremely high. My g.p wanted to do it again in 2 weeks so I went back on monday and it was still 148/108 I think. It's the bottom reading that they worry about, my doc said that they would like it to be below 80 but 90 would be good also. I don't feel ill but she did say that if it continued to stay high that they would have to put me on tablets to keep it down.
Apparently your b/p drops in the 2nd tri anyway.
Hope you're friend gets well soon xxxxxxxxx

Thanks nik, the problem is her bp is rising daily just like higher and higher, mine went up every 2weeks... And when i hit 3rd tri i was on bed rest as i was about to have a stroke, and today i am 120/80 normal as before i was pregnant, but she has had blood pressure problems now for 12years.....

And sorry girls but she is about 121pounds so she is tiny aswell. She has a problem with her valve in her heart aswell.... all we are doing is just praying as that's all we can do..... And the meds HYPOTONE are having no effect on her bp either...
