Well, not literally, but damn do I feel like it! Everytime I start up my computer it takes me about 4-5 tries to get on BNB because the gosh darn (trying not to swear) computer freezes up on me! I always scan it for viruses and I believe this makes it run faster, but has anybody got any idea what else I can do ? I emptied my internet folder thinger, like with the history and that,.. but darn it it just keeps running slower and slower! I have the sims 2 downloaded and the sims pet stories, aswell as limewire and a few other large programs. But my cpusage isn't that much, there's still alot of space, anybody know why it's still so darn slow?

Limewire is like welcoming in a virus and spyware into your PC.
Bad program for downloading.

You should use this on your PC Spybot Search & Destroy.
Select your country and download from there.
Make sure ALL applications are closed and you leave the program to run its course.
It can take anything up to two hours.. It goes through EVERYTHING.
Once the scan is complete remove any threats.
It'll tell you how to do so.

I suggest you do this once a week.

Maybe run a scan as you sleep.

Also, make sure your fan is working properly.. as if the processors are running too high they'll basically burn your fan out. Then it's goodbye PC.

Update: Well the program seems good StirCrazy, but for some reason my computer still won't let me on BNB. It took me an hour to get on here, and the only reason I got on was because I left my account and used my cousin's account (but it's still through the same computer).. That could mean I just have too much on my account, right? I tried using FireFox, but it won't even open. The loading sand-timer thing appears beside my mouse on the computer screen then dissappears, so there's no way I can open it (and yes I tried right-clicking and clicking on open).
I'm going to try the spybot thing, but right now my system is defraging. And I know Limewire has lots of viruses that's why I scan my computer all the time, but still something's wrong and it's not picking up on AVG. If Spybot doesn't work I don't know what I'm going to do.

I'm sorry mBlack,I really don't know how to help you with this...

I am a terrible computer owner....social services should take it away from me,it's in the border of abuse...

I have limewire too and I never scan my computer.I never did.Then Wobbles once helped me scan it with Spybot Search and destroy and that helped for a while.(Thank you Wobbles!)

But unless someone makes me,I never scan it,that was the one and only time my computer was scanned!

Limewire is a baddy - also, use AVG for anti-virus - its free from http://free.grisoft.com ... Norton is a real resource hog.

I recommend Spybot Search and Destroy. Also, just have a look through your running programs - i'll bet you've got a few printer apps running or adobe updating...

Thank you all, I do use AVG I have tried everything but it just doesn't seem to be working. Will have to hire somebody to fix it I guess, BNB only works on 1/4 accounts on this computer and I have to restart it constantly. Thank you all for your advice though.
