11th Oct 2007

just found out this morning that Im pregnant and my OH and I are both really happy about it, but panicking a bit when we've looked at what we're entitled to benefits wise.

We both earn around £14k a year, and have no disabilities. We probably could afford it if we moved into a smaller house etc, but we've only got a 2 bed atm anyway.

Are we entitled to anything other than child benefit and working tax credits? Because we've worked out that this totals about £40 a week and we really could do with a bit more to keep our head above water.

If we cant get much else we might not be able to keep it because we dont think we can afford it

Please help if you can!

Thank you, I know this is my first post but hopefully I'll be hanging around for a bit now!

xxx

I have a history of getting cysts monthly (cyst on my left ovary as of now) and I am only five weeks. Has anyone else experienced a cyst while pregnant? If so what was your experience?

Thank you ladies!

Here's mine, at least I think it is. Not that long ago, only May 19th!

Hello everyone.

I just had my first antenatal appointment today. I'm supposed to be working from home but I got so much fun stuff to look at I've hardly done anything and now I've just joined this forum and am chatting instead of working!

It's already been a a bit of a rollercoaster. I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and already had three lots of bleeding (two spotting but one too fresh for comfort) and an early scan at 8 weeks. The scan showed my little bean and its beating heart but also a bleed and the midwives said I should expect more but not too worry unless painful or clotty. Had the fresh bleed since then but no pain with it and no clots and it stopped pretty smartish. Can't help but worry every single time I go to the toilet.

I was a bit disappointed to find out my next scan won't be until 14 weeks as I was looking for more reassurance next week.

Man, I'm still plenty nauseous though and talk about tender boobs! Also more tired than I've ever been in my life and I've had glandular fever! I'm constantly amazed by how much this tiny bean takes from me even though still so tiny.

What have your experiences been like? Anyone else had/having their first appointment around now?
