south east @ the coast

apparently we are not planning to go on holidays, but we MUST go away for a weekend @ the end of august, as we are living in the middle of a street event, which takes place every year and causes the dishes in our kitchen to vibrate

I don't think it is a good idea to stay @ home with LO at this time!

I would like to go to the coast and it doesn't need to be Brighton exactly! I would like to go somewhere not as popular!

ideally it should have a straight train connection from London.

does anybody have any recommendations for me?

thx

Eastbourne?
Direct train, trains from there to everywhere like Brighton, Hastings etc.
The hotels are all over the town, you can have one on the beach or one inclosed a bit more.

just googled, beaches look great and there is a direct train in just 1,5 hours from London Victoria to Eastbourne, which is the closest train station to us! looks perfect, thx again

yeah, it takes 3 hours from London Waterloo!

don't think that's convenient with LO.

OH wants to go to Bath, of course beautiful place, but I think seaside is more nice for LO?

what you guys reckon?

Bath is beautiful, but I think the seaside would be nicer with your LO. Eastbourne is lovely! We're looking for somewhere to go for a few days too (if OH ever gets around to asking for the days off ...I wanted to go at the beginning of July!)

Hope you have a lovely time x

I think so - definitely on the train, and I can't imagine a hotel would charge - you might want to give them a call and check though x

it's getting difficult already to get a got deal

I'm not used to pay hotel rates, as in the past I always did camping or stayed in a youth hostel!
