Hi, does anyone know how many god parents you can pick?

Random question i know-just wondering as im trying to work out who to pick as i'm bored!

I'm Currently Feeling: 


For a Girl by my knowledge they are allowed 2 females and one male. For a boy they are allowed 2 males and 1 female. Some churches have restrictions when christening I think. Best to ask.

Thanks ladies, as we're keeping the sex a suprise ill have to pick two of each for now. This is just between me and my hubby-not mentionning it to anyone else as its obviously rather early!

Its going to be difficult choosing though!

Hmmmm I was always told it was a girl 2 men and a woman and for a boy 2 women and a man my boys hav 2 godmothers and 1 godfather and for new arrival when shes christened we have asked 2 men and 1 woman

Thats just what I was told. Im not 100% positive. You can always look it up and see?! I think its just tradition. I dont know anything about Christenings as im not a religious person.

I think in the traditional sense its 2 men & a woman for a girl & the other way around for a boy

In alot of churches though you can have as many as you want though. I know of someone who has 8 godparents for there LO
