Anybody do the whole camping thing?

No i don't mean acting camp

We are going camping this weekend, it is a whole new thing to us, last time i camped was in my back garden and i got cauaght sneaking off

I'm really looking forward to it, just some family time with no distractions

So does anyone else go?
where do you go etc...

We are going to Robin hoods Bay, a trial run before we go for a week in August somewhere (maybe wales!!!)

Ant thinks i'm gonna act like a princess lol, we'll see you never know i might be back on here Friday night having run away

Ooooo I go camping! I also do self sufficiency weekends (Yes I really am that sad) where you go off with a waterproof sheet and a knife and live off the land... (I was a cadet and now I go with my older nephews to teach them how to do it... we're an odd family).

When we're doing actual camping, we tend to stick to proper camping sites with lots of amenities like warm showers and a cafe lol! You'll really appreciate that bacon butty in the morning!

Camping is great though... as long as you go into it with an open mind a couple of woolly jumpers you'll have a great time! You'll find a really diverse group of people go camping, and while some of the hardcore campers with their massive tents and walking boots are a bit scary, there will usually be a lot of families there that you can group up with, so the kids can all play together, and mums and dads can take a well deserved break, and have some proper conversation that doesn't revolve around colouring books, or who put a spider in someones sleeping bag.

Have fun!

I went to conwy (only 50 miles away ) last september with me OH and about 15 friends camping and it was class.......Didnt have to care about doing my hair in the morning or anything. Only thing is we had to leave a day early as we got really really drunk and pissed off all the other campers and woke the next moring to no-one speaking to us still cant member to this day what we all did but my best mates bra was in a tree 100 yards from the tent.......so whatever we did must have been bad lol XXX

You could try Skirlington which is near bridlington sometime, it has an onsite swimming pool, pub and they have a Sunday Market every week on site. Think it was about 10 pound per tent per night and the washing/bathing facilities were really good too, nice and clean.
