I'm Currently Feeling: | What are your thought...... I am on Vacation next week. We had planned on going somewhere and probably will do something, but some of our plans fell through so most of our vacation will be spent at home working on projects around the house.
But here is the question. Do you think its ok that my Boss want a phone number of where I will be so that they can call if they have any questions?
What part of IM ON VACATION do they not understand. Now I told the bosses wife to call my cell and leave a message. If hubby finds them calling the house he will be PISSED. (and I did tell her that) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | No they shouldn't be contacting you on your vacation!! It's not even right of them to ask this of you!! I'd do like polo said, turn your phone off. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | They shouldn't be contacting you at all!! And you shouldn't have to turn your phone off if you don't want to be disturbed (although I agree it's better than having them ringing whenever they want to). If you're only off for a week is there really going to be anything that can't possibly wait until you get back? Surely your boss should be able to solve any problems?! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | This used to happen to me a lot. This time I did as PP suggested to you - I said I would check my messages once in an evening and contact them the next day if need be. Lo and behold, they didn't ring me once!! They obviously had to make a decision for themselves for once!!! Funny that isn't it?!!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | We were discussing this at work yesterday, funnily enough. Loads of the saddo's I work with send an email saying they're going away, but will be contactable on their mobile. And with these days of Blackberry's, they can even be paged via email!
One of the team leaders fought and fought that he didn't want a Blackberry, but they insisted. He went away for a couple of days last week, and halfway there, his wife told him that she'd took his Blackberry out his bag before they left and shut it in the bathroom cabinet!!!!
I say holiday is holiday. You shouldn't be giving out your personal numbers to work if you don't want to. If they want to contact you, let them provide you with a cell phone and switch it on once a day to check your messages. |
