My poor Furbabies, Advice?

My poor fur babies are feeling left out since we brought our daughter home. We have since had gifts of 4 birds.... once of which was still alive

Is there anything we can do to make them feel a little less left out?

I'm kinda hoping they get used to us having baby since i am not amused in the slightest at having birds, dead or alive in the house. The germs is not good for my baby.

I dont want to stop them from going out, but i will if they dont stop bringing me gifts!

xx

I am worried for when my LO arrives cause i have 2 dogs, (molly is 2 and max is 4 months) but we have agreed too still give them alot of attention with there being me & OH it can work so we have made a deal that who ever has the LO the other should spare some time for the dogs, It will take them time too adjust too attention being shared but they will come round. My advice is pets are like men, you get too them threw there tummy's!! treats treats treats!!! lol

Sorry, yes... i have 2 cats and they're pinning for us, they just lay on our bed waiting for some attention but unfortunately we dont have much time to give it to them. Obviously they're still being fed and stuff but right now we're still adjusting to having baby home. I feel so bad for them because they're such good pets. I know they dont understand that we dont want dead birds but i need them to stop!

I can't even pick them up because im so sore at the minute. Hopefully they will adapt and stop torturing the neibourhood birds!

Just a thought to help with the birdy situation, does your cat have a bell on its collar, we were told to get new ones for our cats when they started bringing us presents. It gives the birds a bit of a warning that the cat is lurking, so eventually our cat moved on to stalking frogs

Lots of bells on their collars and perhaps give them a little time when your lying on the bed or something, no bending down needed, just a cuddle when your on the sofa or something?

I have had it with all the dead presents ours bring us. They have bells on their collars but they find a way to bring us pressies...birds, voles, mice, frogs, maybugs!
Anyway, as the pressies generally are brought in around dawn I have started locking them out of house. Not all the time. But say if they go out when I go to bed, then they probs want in about 5am. So I let them in and then they sleep till I get up. If they are in when I go to bed, they generally want out about 4.15am when it's light outside. Then they play out till I get up and come in for brekkie.
Maybe you could do similar...ie; stop them having their own entry system (catflap?) and let them in on demand. That way no nasties make it in and tbh it has meant ours have brought less presents too Worth a try!
PS; I love my cats very much...just not the cemetry that is our front garden!
