I'm Currently Feeling: | I dont think gay men can give blood in the states either. I think it has something to do with the being a higher risk of having HIV... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i have absolutly no problem with gay couples. as a catholic i should believe that it's wrong, but saying that i would be a complete hypocrite as i've had sex before marriage and used contraception. it would be hard to disagree with same sex marriages in a rapidly changing world where many things are alot more acceptable than 50 years ago | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | You know, I am glad that the world is more accepting of gay people and now marriages. Think back to a lot of years where people would hide this factor in their lives, get married to the opposite sex, then get divorced because that's not who they were attracted to.
I've come across some gay people in my life and if you accept them, they are the nicest people. |

| I totally agree with it, if two people want to get married it should be encouraged. I believe we are all born equal and should be treated as such. |

On another note, gay men are still not allowed to donate blood in Scotland! | To be honest its all the same thing to me...but you are right they are completely different.
I didnt know gay men arent allowed to give blood either, do you think its the same for gay women??

| I think it's beautiful and fabulous, love transcends colour, gender, etc etc. Bring on the rainbow lurvvvvve! Me and my hubby are friends with a gay couple and they are utterly in love, more than most hetrosexual couples. I am so pleased my child will be born into a more accepting world.
Shame the UK's turning into a Big Brother state but hey, that's another issue ... x |

On another note, gay men are still not allowed to donate blood in Scotland! | Well, I don't think it's really a discrimination: Marriage is by definition the legally binding union of a woman and a man, therefore making same sex 'marriage' impossible. A 'civil partnership' offers same sex couples all of the same rights that a married couple have, and they still become husband and husband or wife and wife.
On a less technical note, I agree with allowing 'same sex marriage' and certainly have no issue with it. I think it's sad that previously to these modern laws coming in, same sex couples have been together for all their adult lives, and then one has passed away and the other has been entitled to no say in their funeral or no rights to inheritance - there have been cases where one partner has passed away, and because the family home was in the name of the deceased, it has been inherited by the family of the deceased, and the other partner has been left with no rights and no home and no material wealth. That just seems so wrong to me. Yay for same sex marriage! |
