kitty spaying

silly question, but do they use normal stitches or dissolving ones?...and if they're normal ones, how long before they come out?

my kitty is getting spayed tomorrow....and I'm scared.... we're moving house next week and I really don't want for her to get too messed up, so I was thinking if she gets done and moves house not too far apart, she's not going to be unsettled twice, you know?

I'm worried about the other cats tormenting her though - we have 3 cats

Yes the female kitty needs stitches hun sometimes they are dissolvable ones sometimes ones which need to be removed normally 7-10 days after the op! Its a simple op, although for the female cat its normally a little more complicated as it does involve having stitches where as the male cat doesnt need to have any! But its a very common op and more problems are caused by the anaesthetic which is still very rare!

Im sure your kitty will be just fine and be up and about in no time! I was told by my vet to expect my cat (male) to go off his food and not want any company and will be like that for 24-48 hours but he came home sat by his bowl, ate his dinner shot off outside and played for 4 hours then came home LOL! x

LOL sounds not to different to my toms. When we got them done, the vet said to feed them scrambled egg. I made scrambled egg with cat milk and they wouldn't touch it. So i tried rice and tuna like the vet said, again, they wouldn't touch it. put their normal food down and they wolfed it down! They cuddled into DH and went to sleep for a few hours - after one of them tried to jump and headbutted the sofa instead! But the following day they were upto their mischievous old ways!

I'm just worried about getting the little one done cause she's a moody little maddam at the best of times! lol

They did dissolving stitches on Gypsy, we didn't have to take her to get them out which was nice. Only problem was she was such a hyperactive little thing that she ended up hurting herself and we had to watch the wound very very closely.

You may want to consider separating her from the other cats for a few days, into a room that doesn't have much furniture, etc. for her to jump on if possible. The surgery is a lot harder on female cats, and they can get hurt much more easily afterwards.

Good luck to your kitty
