fuming!

We went into a council office today to get a form and my wheelchair got stuck on their really bad threshold....then it started malfunctioning

obviously I have to get it fixed and I hope that it's going to be covered under the extended warrantee - but what do I do about the council? The lady there was really nice and was annoyed that the threshold was so bad - she urged me to complain about it being bad and the wheelchair getting stuck...now I have no electric wheelchair until forms are filled in and all the rest of it from the insurance company allowing my wheelchair to get fixed!

thanks

i'm totally lost without it tbh - can't go anywhere if I have to take more than a few steps and can only get to the top of the street or so with the manual - I can't push myself and DHs leg is knackered

Jesus - that's crap. Deffo make a complaint. The council above any other work place have more anti discrimination, health and safety, equal opportunites, diversity, disability discrimination act policies than you can shake a shitty stick at....... name and shame and I am pretty darn sure they will be grovelling at your knees and will pay for any damage not covered by your warrenty!!!

PLUS, you'll want at least an apology for the humiliation aspect you may have felt. I know with my mum if anything like that happens, we make a joke of it but really she's mortified. It's bad enough folk stare because you're in a bloody wheelchair, but then encountering problems and having staff come over - nightmare!

Kick some council ass chick! Tossers

(apologies for language - it makes me soo mad)

it wasn't too bad at first, there was just me and DH and the lady at the counter, but then it started driving wonky and i think it's broke one of the motors underneath. I said to DH that something wasn't right when we were there and when he checked it, there was nothing obviously wrong and it was still driving wonky.
