I'm Currently Feeling: | cat advice please people! hey im moving house next week (friday woo) i will be taking my beloved kittys with me (hurrah) but am a little confused, they are indoor cats have never been out. new house has a cat flap. do i need to lock it and prevent them from exploring untill they are properly settled or can i let them explore to their hearts content??
only asking cause i know with cats that go out you have to keep them in so they dont try to find their way back to their old house
just wondered if it was the same... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | we were advised to keep ours in for a few weeks, then if we wanted to let them out, rub some butter on their feet, so they can find their way home.
We also used to take ours out on a collar and lead so we felt that they had been 'shown round' |

I'm Currently Feeling: | mine have harness's but they HATE them so showing them around isnt an option, will keep them in for a bit then let them explore as and when they want too |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Same, I would keep them in for a while. Probably are but just make sure all their vaccinations, worming, flea stuff is all up to date when they do go out cause sure enough they'll come into contact with other cats. x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My cat is an outdoor cat (Just comes in at night) and when we move I keep him in for about a week then let him out. They'll not go far when first let out. | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | i would lock it , till they are settled with their new surroundings. Then start opening it some days and keep an eye on them, until they are completley used to the fact, its their new home and they not going to do a runner. |
