Would you think this was an insult?? | Eh? Wha...? When I say a fine line to walk, I mean in an approach to a disabled person with a bit of respect and decorum. Its like, if I approached a pregnant lady who I didn't know, the first thing I would not say is "whens it due?" - its none of my business. |

Would you think this was an insult?? | You're right Elli, it is polite. I always get very annoyed with people who don't move out of the way of MrBum, or if I have a pushchair. Bloody rude if you ask me! Sometimes we can be stuck behind someone, saying "excuse me, excuse me, excuse me... EXCUSE ME!!" And then they tut and look at you as if to say, "There's no need to yell" before very slowly, finally moving out of your way! |

My cheeky answer to that was "dont know who that is" pmsl!! of course that was a lie but it shut them up quick! |
You know Tasha - you're right. Pregnant women and crips.... what an expedition it must have been when you two went out together when you were pregnant, trying to avoid idiots.
There's a lass I know, she was out n about n she's a wheelie user, anyway she was holding her mates baby and some numpty interfering oldie went up to her mate and started giving her a right old ear bashing "what are you doing letting HER hold your baby? what if she drops the baby?!" and stupid stuff like that.
My niece took her niece out (ok this is confusing, my niece is 19 and had a baby, her sisters are 14 and 12) and they get abuse from people when they take the baby out for a wander without their sister "eeee little slut, fancy getting pregnant at her age!" and stuff. OMG if I'd been there I would've clagged the interfering, prejudge, judgmental bat. |

When we first told my family that I was expecting, my grandmother's reply was, "Oh what a shame!! People like that shouldn't be allowed to have babies!"
What an interfering old B*tch! She proceded to say, however, that "He didn't get you pregnant, you got him pregnant!" and I couldn't resist replying with, "Oh no, Nan, he's a right goer - Doggy style all the way!" So I rather like to enjoy the feeling of victory on that account! |

I wasnt tlking bout what you said bout walking a fine line, i simply meant that people see things in different ways, and i know once i moved out the way of a disabled person in a wheel chair and they said to me "why move? Im perfectly capable" and went the long way around me to prove a point. | | | | Status: Offline

My cheeky answer to that was "dont know who that is" pmsl!! of course that was a lie but it shut them up quick! | I got that sometimes, too - Despite wearing a wedding ring! I went into the college that I was studying at after I had Anna, to show her off to my old mates there, and was approached by one of my old teachers who had the audacity to ask me "Oh I bet you must be struggling with being a lone-parent... What about the Dad, is he taking much interest or is he completely out of the picture?" I did enjoy being able to shock her, though, and felt quite smug as I replied, "Actually I'm married to him. " |
