I don't think being married is as important as it used to be. We have 3 kids now, & are perfectly happy the way we are, we have no intention of getting married, there will always be other things we'd rather spend our money on.

Our DD is at school, & most of the children in her class are from families where the parents aren't married, but at least the parents are actually still together.

Fair enough. They're just being really patronising and saying 'if you leave 2 teenagers alone in the house, they will have sex without thinking about consequences' and that's not true! Don't get me wrong, I'm all for marriage before children as I was born out of wedlock and my dad has nothing to do with me now and hasn't for a very long time but I suppose it doesn't matter whether you're married or not these days, if someone wants to walk out they'll do it regardless

that's mad! You know, I admit that I used to do stuff at my parents when I was alone with BF - but it wasn't always sex - only 2 people I had in that house I ever had sex with in that house - and I married one of them!! I sneaked alot more boys than them 2 into the house when I was young

If people TRUSTED teenagers more, they'd realise that their prejudce was bang out of order!

Certainly living up to your name there hey mynxie lol. I agree, people just assume teenagers just have sex all the time which isn't true. Yes I did have a lot of sex when mine or OH's parents were out but there were also a lot of times we just watched a dvd or had dinner and went to bed and *shock horror* talked and then went to sleep! Lol

yep, totally agree

I remember staying over at DHs when he lived with his dad, we were in bed late one night, I was reading and he was playing on a console - his dad shouts up the stairs "shagging again are ya?"

I did want to have the whole wedding before baby thing....
.... but God didnt intend it like that!!!

Both my nans were like "think you need to get married now"!!! But were in no rush.... I dont want a shot gun wedding (as i call it) !!! When I get married I want to look super sexy in my pics.... (at the moment I look about as sexy as a ballerina elephant)!!!

I def plan to be married before my LO goes to school as someone as already mentioned.... due to different surnames!!

But I really dont think marriage is the be all and end all.... my mum and dad was married and he left us all when I was 3 and my sis was 6 months old!!!! soooo....

What people forget now tho is tht times have changed, going back a good few years teenage pregnancy would have been like a crime and totally shameful but now its not usually seen like tht. Me and my OH arent married and dnt think that we will for a long time, course it would have been nice but things dnt always work out how u wished them to. Our child will stil be loved and spoiled lol and yes we will have diff names but i dnt reli mind tht either for now, i kinda see it as bond between my OH and the bby as i had the bond tht he didnt for 9 months.

I was engaged when i got pregnant, and got married when pregnant too. We didnt get married because of the pregnancy but i think it pushed us faster...
I dont care whether people are married or not, as long as they are happy!
