Posh Buffet Food

Chris and I are having Olivia Christened in July, we have booked a venue for a gathering of friends and family after the service. We have spoken to the chef who is going to do the buffet for us and he has left us to have a think about what we want.

Basically he has said that he will make what ever we want from fresh etc and we just need to tell him what we want.

Well... Im a tad snobby at times, and although we have deceided we will go with a finger buffet rather than a hot buffet I wanted to add a bit of classiness to it rather than just the old pork pie and a few sarnies and crisps.

Ive got as far as Volauvents and quiche on my list of posh food to add to the orindary

Trouble is im useless and now im stuck... Haha!

Any ideas???

Thanks

x

What I suggest doing is going to hotel websites, and downloading their events/weddings brochure which will have sample menus.

Here's a few to get you started:

Pizza slices with bacon and sweetcorn
Pitta bread filled with chilli chicken
Chinese marinated chicken drumsticks with prawn crackers
Platter of poached and smoked salmon with dill cream fraiche
Spiced potato wedges with sweet chilli dip
Pesto marinated chicken and pepper kebabs
Savoury quiche
Indian samosas with yoghurt and turmeric dressing
Garlic and coriander naan bread with Oriental dip
Warm garlic bread with chives
Crispy vegetable spring rolls
Mexican nachos with guacamole
Mini onion bhaji with yoghurt and cucumber
Chicken goujons with honey and lemon
Miniature Fish and chips with tartare sauce and lemon wedges
Tortilla wraps with various fillings
Deep fried mushrooms with garlic mayonnaise
Hot pork stotties with sage and onion
Mini Toad in the Hole
