I'm not saying that she's not a wonderful mother, but surely this is just selfish?? Especially considering by her own admission she has no close family or friends.

To be honest i do think thats it is selfish, as she was doing it without thinking that more than likely the child is going to have to care for her mother by the time shes 6, if her mother is still alive..where she'll be left with no other family.
But to the child, its normal.

It seems a little irresponsible by the people controlling IVF - it would never be allowed here. But I do take umbridge with the article going on about how frail she is, yadda yadda, except for how it then goes on and on about how she's at uni and doing this and that. Yes, very frail!

Will being bullied become the norm for this child too! Because I think we all know its more than likely going to happen. Kids are cruel these days and often they take the bate for their parents ways of life & choices.

Just a little? hehe
To think they have courses that are lenghty & judging prying into every inch of your lifestyle & medical history for fostering & adopting children in need for loving families to make sure they 'fit' then they allow this to happen.

Actually its starting to annoy me this story!

Gosh and I feel kind of guilty for having a baby at 39. By the time this child graduates at 18 I will be 57.

Anyhow, at 66 I would rather be a grandma than a mom!

The mother says that she's healthy and will probably live another 20 years. She doesn't know that! At that age, anything can happen.
