I'm Currently Feeling: | Any tips on getting hair dye to fade? I've had my hair bright red or purple for about 18 months now, and dye it myself every 4 weeks. But I'm so fed up with it and want to go more 'normal'. So I rang a hairdresser friend and asked her for brown with blond highlights. She came 3 weeks ago to do it, but said it was far too vibrant and would go orange if she tried to dye it!
So we rebooked it for 4 weeks thinking it would have faded by then. I've been using Wash and Go on her advise because she said it's quite a harsh shampoo and should strip the colour.
But, 8 days until she comes back, and I've got inch and a half brown roots with a lovely specking of grey thrown in, with bright red hair for the next 4 inches or so, then the ends are a wishy washy ginger colour!
It's driving me mad with the horrible colour and I can't have her say no again next week.
Any ideas what I can use to make it fade quicker?? Anything homemade maybe??? Or a different shampoo? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was told using something like fairy liquid (followed by a good conditioner) would do the trick, plus washing it at least once a day.Conditioner is critical tho1 Or else it will go like straw and end up taking the new dye really badly anyway. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks Farie. I usually wash it every other day, but said to Kayleigh that I would start washing it every day from tomorrow. And I'll try the washing up liquid too!
My neighbour said to put vinegar on for half an hour, then wash it out. What do you think? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I may give the washing up liquid a go for tonight, and then the washing powder tomorrow. Only a week to last if it all goes horribly wrong! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Vinegar could work, perhaps try vinegar for 15 mins, wash out with fairy and then dollop on lots of good conditioner.
If you do try washing powder just make sure you don't get it on your scalp/body to much as it might cause sensitivity? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I've tried the vinegar, washing liquid, and fairy liquid and it's still just as bright!!!
I use Head and Shoulders anyway, so I'l go and get some of the 2in1 tomorrow. I will get this to fade if it kills me!!! |
