I'm Currently Feeling: | Growing your own? So, with the credit crunch and rising food and fuel prices, are any of you growing your own veg?
I only have a small garden, but I've been creative to try and save some pennies......
I have a special hanging basket variety of tomatoes
3x trough containers of mixed lettuce, salad leaves and rocket
3x fruit shrubs (raspberries, goosberries and something else that I've got to wait until it fruits because I can't remember what it is!!)
ruhbarb in a sheltered spot under a large bush
carrots in a deep pot
radishes in a trough pot
herbs in an aerogarden in the kitchen
and soon to be runner beans growing up a trellis
I'm also trying to grow peppers from seed.
I'm hoping I can talk my SIL into sharing her allotment with me as well now she's just found out she's pg - can't do heavy digging now!!!!
Anyone else growing stuff, and does anyone have any tips for anything that'll not take up much room??? |

| I've been doing it for years. You can grow a variety of things in pots like peppers and aubergines. Also, do you gather your own seeds? | | | | Status: Offline
