OH MY &&%*"..!!!!!

*warning* = up coming rant...

ok, so last year i was going about my business living up in lincolnshire with my OH when i fell pregnant, we made a decision (sp?) that we wanted a family home in my native wales so i moved back in with my parents whilst i house hunted and grew fatter...

all last year i looked and every house i saw my OH veto'd, it was detatched/too small/it had no view..etc

anyway, after having LO in feb and still living at home my hormonal self went beserk and decided to move into a little 3 bed end of rd new build round the corner, so i rang estate agents had a viewing, and asked all the usual utilities, rent , parking blah-di-blah and was told that the contract would be up for renewal every 6 months was that ok.. spoke to OH and we decided to go ahead so rang estate agents and they said i had to pay £150 for a sure start check (or home start cant remember what its called) so i went into the office paid it and got told i was looking at a week to complete the check and prob get keys and move in the following week...

4 WEEKS later the agents call me and say the check is completed could they have a guarantor.and OH did i know that the ENTIRE lease was for 6 months coz vendors hubby was looking to leave iraq and they wanted to move in..:O

so i was technically fleeced for £150 and told sling you hook after 6 months with a house full of furniture and a (by then) 9 month old...

i am sooooooo peeved right now that im seeking solace in a family sized galaxy, so not only have they taken my money their also to blame for my expanding waist size...

i think thats wow harsh and wud demand my money back as for the galaxy its jus got to be done lol x

Ripoff mechants f*@&ing agents; they should all be shot. Had the same kind of problem about a year ago. At the time I was newly self employed so the agent wanted to see accounts and books which I supplied as best as I could being a new business... anyway paid all the legal and credit fee's (which were all fine) and gave them our pervious landlords number who gave us a glowing reference saying how we had always paid on time or early, as well as £1500 up front for deposit and first months rent; only to get a call saying that they had decided not to let us have the house (3 weeks before we were due to move ) because (get this) they "didn't understand how I made a wage"... we were like, you know I make a wage you've seen my bank statements and what do you care as long as we pay on time (we even offered to pay 6 months up front). So they took the fee's pretty much knowing that they were never gonna let us have the house!!

You both have good cases for your money back - trading standards are cracking down on estate agents right now.

Give BBC's watchdog a call...

Was long ago - The space between them saying no and us moving out was actually less than 3 weeks they proper screwed us and because of that situation we ended up moving 4 times in 13 months!

People say your more secure going through legit agents and its BOLLOX you are honestly more than likely to get no hassle (not to mention no fees) going through a private landlord (papers, shop adverts). Look at houses, meet landlords & take your own judgement. Will never look at another agents again.

yeah and their all nicey nicey ill-bend-and-lick-your-behind if you need me too untill you grease their palm with money... then they "suddenly" become THE busiest agent in the world coz every time you try and ring them their always "out the bloody office!!!!"
