The reason I say that is not to take the easy way out of not caring for a disabled baby, because that doesn't bother me in the slightest, I just wouldn't want my child to have a miserable life because of the pain he was in.
I guess this might be why the limit is 24 weeks? Which is probably right.
BUT for any other reason (is it called social reasons?) Id like to see it lowered to maybe 14 or 16 weeks.
Im going to stay away from this now though because I dont think my opinion will be very popular.
xxx | I agree with you completely, if the baby wouldn't live I'd do the same, but for non medical reasons at 24 weeks, that's another story! | | | | Status: Offline

My old boss used abortion as a form of birth control and last I'd spoken to her, she'd had 9. So, they were all early on but in my opinion, that is just wrong and I am pro-choice.
(Sorry if I am all controversial) | I am speechless - 9 abortions??????? What the hell. That makes me so sad. All those little babies were killed Is it really so difficult to take the pill, use a condom or keep your knickers firmly up?
What is the world coming to?????

I'm Currently Feeling: | I don't agree with abortions at any stage. That's my opinion for both religious, and personal reasons. There are so many people wanting to adopt, it's just so sad that people choose to end their babies life, instead of intrusting it to another person. |

I just dont think I have that power to say who can/cant live whether they have ANY disability, and an ultrasound wouldnt tell me whether a child was deaf or blind or couldnt speak or walk anyway. |

I agree with you Linzi, if i had found out at my 20 week scan that my LO would be born with no quality of life and would suffer or be in pain, i think i would have had some serious thinking to do. I wouldn't have wanted her to suffer.
I think if theres a genuine reason i.e. serious medical or rape then there should be an option.
I do not however agree on people using it as a form of contraception because they have been clumsy. |
