wash and dry them, and then rub them with either oil or butter, your choice, sprinkle with sea salt and place on one side of the grill. Make sure that this side has been heated and then turned off. The other side should be on high. The potatoes will bake with the indirect heat. About half way through baking I poke a few holes in the potato with a fork and turn it over. Let it continue baking until the sides are soft when squeezed or test with a fork.

or

wash and wipe dry potatoes. Cut slits into potatoes almost to the other side of the potatoes, being careful not to cut through the potatoes [potatoes must stay whole]. put pot in foil. Add butter knobs salt and pepper. Tightly wrap each potato. place onto higher rack on BBQ but over medium-hot coals for approximately 40 to 45 minutes, turning wrappings every 10 minutes. Prick with a fork through foil to check

few ideas here on recipies......... http://www.barbecue-online.co.uk/bbq_recipes.htm

Haven't done potatoes on the grill but here are a few ideas

You can cook corn on the cobb (we do it with foil around it and butter, salt and pepper) for 30 minutes. Asparagus and okra are also really good on the grill, with a bit of olive oil and spices.

One other thing we do quite often is garlic bread, we bake the garlic in the oven with butter, than take that and the bread to the grill, spread the garlic butter on the bread and add cheese while it's cooking on the grill! Very good

Chicken if it is small bits can just be skeward, otherwise it falls through the grill. I wouldnt wrap it in foil as it might not cook. chicken legs you can part cook in the oven for 15 mins - or make sure they are cooking on the cooler part of the BBQ

Coal or gas

The gas look better and easier to use but im wondering will it affect the taste. I love the smell of a smoky bbq. I was reading sumthing about a smoke box?????

I also seen a photo of a gas one with sumthing that looked like coals on it? What was that?
