gas is just an outside cooker really. you can put woodchips and coals on some to give the effect, but i find nothing simplier and better than instant lighting charcoal, it is ready to cook on in about 15 minutes and lasts about an hour and a half as aposed to proper charcoal which takes ages to light and then you have to wait a good 45 mins before you can cook on it, but o the plus side, the heat lasts longer.

Coal or gas

The gas look better and easier to use but im wondering will it affect the taste. I love the smell of a smoky bbq. I was reading sumthing about a smoke box?????
What about electric?? One of the George Forman ones......we're getting this

Some of our family have it to and they are brill! So much safer IMO with children as no flames and if it rains....just take it inside..lol!!

I worry about BBQ's & kids.....just takes one small thing & dred what may happen....healthier too!!

I always cooked them first, wrapped them in foil and heated them up on the BBQ when needed

I never do anything more complicated than soaking the meat ina marinade befoer the BBQ, and try to make it as easy as possible 'cos after a few bevvies I am always too rat arsed to cook anywhoooo....

These days I suppose i will have to curb that huh

When I do backed potatos on a bbq, I usually stab them, but them in tin foil and leave them on for about 20 mins and they're usually done ok.

Good luck
