need help from tall women

So I'm about 5ft 9in but I'm quite long in the body. This means that I can wear regular trousers and skirts but tops are too short and dresses think that my waist is an inch or so higher than it actually is. I got a Gok Wan consultation on the channel 4 website and it said I have an hourglass figure and I really want to try and wear some dresses that are tailored on the body but flare out (50s style) and some similar tops but I've trawled the high street and just can't find anything that fits. All the tall sections in the shops assume that if you're tall you're also lanky, but I have a 38F chest!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

HI hun. I'm 6ft and have awful trouble with clothes and especially with trousers. I tend to get my trousers from the tall range at Dorothy Perkins as I find they fit the best. Long tall Sally is also quite good, but a bit pricey.
Hope that helps hun
