omg its werid im not a christain although i have been confirmed and christained and went church when i was young i believe in something but until i die i will never know if heaven and if god loves everyone and if i repent all my sins on my death bed i will be fine as i will go to heaven hehe well i hope
its young kids that are i america and they talk about jesus well hammer it donw there throat i feel they are talking about abortion to the kids saying everything has a life and they should not die and they are age about 8 ish and they are crying i understand each to there what ever u believe in but its a bit in ur face xx
I agree, I am a Christian...but would never take part in something like these people have. It honestly looks like they are brainwashing the children and people of the congregation. The children have no chance to believe on their own. I was shocked when I watched this.
abortion is a very complex topic - a child wouldn't understand most of how complex it is! A teenager yes, but not an 8 year old! IMO an 8 year old shouldn't know what abortion is!
I'm going to be blunt. It looked like child abuse to me I was sickened by it. I'm not a Christian to be honest infact a more acurate discription of me would be an "active atheist" I wont say what I believe or what not it isn't the place to do so, but I am not going to force my kids to belive the same as me and if my kids become a Christian fair enough. My Partner is a former Christian now pagan, I personally sstopped belieiving in God at aged 7 ish well that is when I told my parents at least. But Forcing beliefs of any religion upon a child I think is wrong. Kids are wise individuals they can make up their own mind.

I didn't see this show, but I agree that abortion is not something that an 8 year old should be having to consider. They are not able to form their own conclusions (which I guess is exactly these people's hopes) at that age.
I went to "Christian" camps when I was young, although no one told me they were Christian camps, and I didn't even realise til years later when my sisters were talking about it, so they can't have been shoving anything down our throats! All I remember from those camps is go-karting, swimming, making badges and meeting lots of friends. I can't remember having to pray, perhaps there was grace before meals I don't know - I think it was just something the church organised and my parents agreed to help be "leaders" and that's why we were there.
When I was 7 my Mum told me that she wasn't going to church anymore, but that Dad was and it was up to us to go or not. My eldest and youngest sister went, but the rest of us (we're 4) chose not to. We had lots of RE classes at my school, which opened my eyes to lots of religions, I tried going back to church but it's just never felt right for me, not something I can believe in. I'm glad that I was at least able to make that choice.
Your Christian camp seems a lot more tolerable than the one on TV last night this had congrgations of kids having "religious experiences" of what looked like fits on the floor and they looked like they were being groomed to preech. To be fair I did turn it off before the end I just couldn't stomach it.

Seriously, like I said, I never even realised they were Christian camps until I was an adult! My parents had a friend, who I had never even realised was a priest (ok, I was only 7 and already in my own little Faerie la la land), and he was running the camp.
I had friends who went to Christian camps that, whilst they don't sound as bad as the one you guys are talking about, still freaked me out. They talked about religion all the time, which I could just never understand, they even have Christian rock bands, now what exactly is Christian rock??
I didn't watch it, but a few of my OHs mates are christians which doesn't bother me, but they do try and force it down our throats a lot, which is why I sometimes have a problem with religion. It's fine as long as you aren't pushing what YOU believe in on someone else, everyone has the right to choose what they want to follow or believe in. And scaring 8 year old children by forcing ideas like that down their throats is just brainwashing. Do not approve!
