Cleaning vertical blinds!?

I need tips ....

They left the blinds up in our new place which is ace but they are in need of a serious clean so thought I'd ask you girls as I can't see they will easily come down to dip!

bicarb and warm water full the bath, leave them for 10 mins, roll towels around them on floor, and jump on them (squeezes the water out)

I do mine in the washing machine on a the delicates 40 degrees wash then hang them on the line for an hour then put them back up still damp so they dont go out of shape. I would suggest trying this with 1 0r 2 of them from somewhere you wont notice if they go a bit wonky

They do come off pretty easily (we have them in our apartment as well--but only two sets, and we've actually never removed them to clean them but have had cats knock them down). I like Mynxies idea of using the bathtub to clean them though

I'm surprised they don't break in the washing machine Jinx broke one of our blinds by running through it (the top part where it hooks on is quite a small square, with only a thin piece of plastic holding it to the bracket thingy) and we had to superglue it back together

No they came out brilliant I was worried coz they are a creamy colour thats why I tested first with 3 strips of one blind in the back room coz if they had of nobody would of noticed anyway!

yeah, bicarb of soda huni - it cleans white brilliantly!

Just leave them in the bath for a little while (go n watch corrie or summit) then take them out. After you've done the tel thing they'll be damp and just ready to put back up. Saw it on how clean is your house - wonderful program that it, I always feel so much less guilty for not doing whatever that day lol
