he fell in love with her it was lovely, garys mum wanted minty to travel the world with her but he wanted someone to cuddle up on the sofa with.

I don't think he actually loves her in that way... I felt so awful for her when he said that he'd changed their honeymoon suite at the hotel for two single rooms. Poor girl.
