I'm Currently Feeling: | The "big one" is quickly approaching... That's right, the big 3-0. Sigh.
Please share your insight on dealing with turning 30, cuz I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it. My DH doesnt get it, he says it's just a number, but it's like now it's official that I have to be a grown up, ya know? With one kid and one on the way, I drive a minivan and have a mortgage, last night I actually made myself a cup of hot water its pretty clear my days of being young and crazy are pretty much behind me, but as long as I was still in my 20's at least I could pretend I was still a member of the young and cool club.
My preferred method of celebrating my birthday would be similar to how I celebrated 29... copious amounts of tequila (not to worry most of it was reguritated later that evening), visiting various bars and hot spots with me dancing on the table at one point in the evening (I think that was after the karaokee?), we went out for chicken fingers at about 5 in the morning, then went and had wild sex, and I got a tattoo (which I love my tattoo btw can't wait to get another) But unfortunately all of the above activities are taboo since I'm pregnant (Well except the wild sex, but believe me it's unlikely to happen). So that leaves just the triple chocolate fudge birthday cake that's sitting in my freezer.
My brother told me 30 is the new 20, so I shouldn't think of myself as a 30 year old, I should think of myself as the newest 20 year old, but I think he was maybe just saying that to make me feel better. To test that theory I've been trying to find some "hot" celebrities that are 30 (Ashton Kutcher, John Mayer, KFed, Tom Brady) but notice these are all men, so does not appear the rule applies to women? He also said that being in your 20's just means you only own second hand furniture, don't have a real job, and think Pauly Shore is funny.
Anyway, just feeling a bit blue about getting older, I know it's pretty whiny but thanks for letting me vent. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I always thought that 30 was going to be a tough one for me but it came and went smoothly. 30 isn't so bad, truly.
It's the 40 that I will be hitting next year that scares the crap out of me. LOL
Hope you have a great birthday! | | | | Status: Offline

Don't feel like you have to grow up just because you've hit 30. I'm not planning on growing up any time soon!!! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I LOVED turning 30!!!
I had a big party which I know isnt really an option but that wasnt why I loved it. I just felt totally happy and comfortable being me. 30's are MUCH better than 20's!!! You're still young enough to have lots of wild fun but old enough to know better!!! Very Sex and The City.
Here's me hammered in the bog at my 30th..... | | | | Status: Online
