Adoption

Does anyone know if you can adopt a child if you have had mental health problems in the past? I would be greatful to hear from anyone who has had experience with this.

Many thanks
Melissa

So long as your mental health problems are in remission and will not infringe on your ability to parent well, or pose a risk to the child's health or safety, then there is no reason why this would stop you being able to adopt.

Best of luck hunni

My mum would also like to do this, but scared this is the reason they would say no. Even though it's been about 30 years and raised 3 kids.

All you can do is try hun.
