How shocking is that!!

When my dad left my mum some 16 years ago i was 5 and my brother was 6 months and obviously my mum wanted her child maintence money from my dad but he was no where to be seen.

My mum gave them my dads name and address and nothing ... eventually it came out that over the last 16 years that have taken the same man (who is not my dad) to court over our maintenance money FOUR times

So my mum complained that it was their fault she hadnt had any money for 16years and they sent her a cheque for compensation of over £4000!!

My mum is so pleased as she can put some of that money toward our baby.

I always thought the CSA were crap ... maybe not!!

james has been through the mill with the csa and his ex wife, he has been over paying for years (his ex is money grabbing as it is) and we put money in the bank for amy so that we know she actually gets to see it.

any ways, cause he has a gap between jobs (only a few weeks) we got a letter from the csa saying he didnt need to pay anything which made us smile cause she would have got the same letter.

it sounds harsh but she is out for what she can get, and she has just received a 20grand cheque from the divorce so she wont be short we just know itll really get up her nose

a lad i worked with had a baby with his ex girlfriend they broke up not long after he was born, anyway last year he went to court over custody as she was halting him seeing his son because she had a new boyfriend and *joe* had a new dad anyway her solicitor demanded he got a drug test, so his solicitor demanded a paternity test... bit of a tit for tat. nobody thought anything would come of either however it was discovered that the 6 yr old little boy in question wasn't even his. he even paid for a re-test same result negative match so he went down the route of possible baby swap at hospital... nope she was the mother he quite simply wasnt the father.
my point of this story is he has been to court with the CSA and is getting nowhere...
the way he and myself and plenty of others see it why should he have paid so much money to look after a child that wasn't his in the first place!!!! they are dragging their feet over everything to do with it. they offered him £500 compensation... he's obviously refused i feel for the poor lad his heart is broken.

his ex has since admitted that she knew full well he wasnt the father but the other potential father was on the dole whereas he was working full time.... doesnt take a genuis to see what she was doing does it?!
they are quick to take it off peple but slow to give it back.
my dad had a problem too when my mum left she tried to claim for all of us, even though we was with my dad and the CSA didnt believe my dad and did a visit.... in the meantime they still took money from him for her.

My dad got custody of me when I was about 6months-1yr old, and my mam never paid a penny towards me. The agency (Not sure if it was the CSA or something back then) didn't try very hard to get money off her at all, and Im still convenced it was because of my dad being a single dad as opposed to a single mum... i think had the shoe been on the other foot, my mum would have got a lot out of my dad.

But thats just the way life is I suppose.
