Anne Boleyn Experience 2010

Anyone going?

It's in May, you tour Hever Castle, Hampton Court, Tower of London, meet with historians, etc.

I would absolutely LOVE to go but I'm in the US and we just weren't able to get finances together to go this year.

So I need to live vicariously through someone.

I don't know how expensive it is. Sadly, I've been to England and only visited Hever, Hampton, Tower Of London, etc. through pics on google. They don't have a whole lot of interior pics though.

Anne has always been my favourite Queen - closely followed by Elizabeth Woodville (the sheer glamour factor!) I've been an armchair historian on Yorkists - Tudors since I was wee. Love it!

I've been to quite a few talks etc - great experiences, and allow for interesting debate on some ideas that aren't always fully covered in books.

I love The Tudors...it's sooooooooo entertaining. I don't care if it's not historically accurate, it's fab!

I used to be able to see the Tower from my flat - a looooooooong time ago!

You can literally feel the history when you walk in, all around you. The Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula is particularly amazing, flowers are laid every year on the anniversary of various historical figures deaths.

You can't help but think of Katherine Howard in Hampton Court...and Wolsey.

Oooh, this sounds interesting. Never heard of it before, but I'd like to go. Probably won't make it this year, we have a busy couple of months coming up, but for the future... Has anyone read The Other Boleyn Girl? Fantastic book.

As soon as I saw this thread title I thought "Anne Boleyn experience? Wasn't she executed? Don't think I want to experience that!"

I've read and dont particularly enjoy The Other Boleyn Girl

It's around £1400 for a single room! they're thinking about making it annual so maybe I'll save for next year...

When I went to the Tower I didn't really enjoy it but I loved Hever Castle, Hampton Court, Westminster abbey etc...I think the Tower experience was ruined for me as I went with my SIL who is the BIGGEST grump and found it boring

Edit: Bexy!
