i only have one little toddler but im not sure what i would do if i had two!!i leave her in the car to pay for petrol but i am totally paronoid the whole time and dont take my eyes off the car and its locked but i think im mostly worried about other ppl seeing and having a go at me for it..i am also slightly paranoid that if the station gets held up shel be stuck in there..i would never leave her to go into a shop though you never know ppl these days!!if you can get someone who is outside and can get easily to the car if something happens to watch them til you get out then i guess thats ok..it really depends how familiar you are with the car park your leaving them in!!

On I lighter note about leaving kids in the car... I just remembered a story my MIL told me about leaving my OH in the car when he was about 6 or 7!!they were on their way back from somewhere and she needed to pop into a friends house quickly (in the same village as they lived) so she left OH in the car but locked the doors by pushing the buttons down then shutting the doors (it was 19 years ago...no remote locking.lol) but she left the keys. She gave him strict instruction NOT to open the doors until she got back under no circumstances!! Anyway, whilst she is in her friends house there is a knock at the door and there is my OH with a cheeky smile on his face.his mum went mental saying she said not the open the doors, but in his defence he hadnt...he had climbed out through the sun roof and had pushed it shut afterwards, locking them both out of the car they had to walk home and get the spare set of keys!!

Yes but there's nothing you can do about that. If you werent around and left your baby you'd think 'omg why did i leave my baby, why didn't i take her out' for the rest of your life.

The only time Imi has ever been left in the car when i'm not in it is for pay at pump petrol and at the cash machine (with the car parked 2 metres away!). I could never leave her in the car even just for a minute! She's really heavy for me to carry in her car seat now but if i'm "popping" into the shop or PO but I wouldn't even consider leaving her in the car! If I pulled up outside a shop and there was a baby alone in the car I would completely freak out I think

I dont actually drive but would never leave AJ in the car, even for those 2 mins.
OH does drive and will not leave AJ in the car either. He's needed petrol before and gone and picked up a relative before going to fill up so AJ wouldnt be left alone.

I've done it before too. Thomas was older at like 9 months or something coz he was asleep so I took Caitlin to nursery and parked the car right next the nursery gate (in the car park) ran in dropped her off and ran back out to the car maximum of 2 minutes but I would never leave a baby of 3 months

I wouldn't do it. I can't control the behaviour of others, but will be minimising any risks which I have control over.
