Definately not. I hate hearing little kids swear, and want to punch the parents who think its funny and encourage them! Can you tell its a sore point of mine??!!!

Wow...I can't believe some of the swear words some of you have heard from little kids!! I NEVER use the "f" word" or "sh*t" or anything like that. Sometimes I say darn, or crap...which I thought wasn't too bad...until my son said it! Then I realized that it sounded bad. So I try not to then. My kids picked up "oh my gawd" from TV and school probably...but, since we are Catholic, we don't say that here. I used to lifeguard at a pool here for years and we would get some really rotten kids in...like the juvenile deliquents (literally, just released from jail) and they would swear at their parents, lifeguards, teachers, other kids...other than that, I haven't really heard any kids swear, except teenagers. My son is at the age where I think he would know if it was a bad word or not...and if he did say a bad word...I wouldn't get mad unless he knew it was a bad word. In fact, I would just let him know quite calmly because sometimes if kids know it bothers you, they will do it even more. I don't swear much at home though...it's work where people swear ALL the time. They think I am an angel there though...but, really, I just don't swear as much as them. LOL!

I won't be swearing in front of LO, or at least not on purpose.
My niece will be 3 in August, and is really into copying everything that's said. I was babysitting her the one night and dropped a full glass of chocolate milk on the floor and said "Oh Shhh-Cheerios!" Don't know how I managed that one, but now whenever she drops something she says, "Oh Cheerios!"

I very very rarely have cussed in front of my boys. I have/do say crap, but I don't consider that a very bad word, and they also know it's not for kids to say anyways.

It is a balancing thing when they're very young as they don't know the difference between good and bad words, and I disapprove of children swearing.

At the same, I'm not going to change who I am or hide my speech to appear like some kind of word angel when I'm not. My son knows some words are for adults to say and it's been talked about in such a matter-of-fact way that he just doesn't care and it's not an issue.

I don't walk around cussing all the time, mind you. I just think that in some situations, a cuss word is the most effective sound to make, like when stubbing a toe or some such thing! LOL Saying ''sugar'' or ''fudge'' just isn't as satisfying in those circumstances.

I do tend to swear quite a lot It is a habit and a very hard one to break. When Dan was younger he tried it for a while (as all kids will do regardless if they hear it at home or not, because they are going to hear it somewhere else) but I told him his tongue was going to turn black and fall out and he stopped straight away. Dec is known to say the odd "shite" now and again but he is still to young to understand the whole tongue falling out buisness, when he uses it we dont give him attention, we just say thats a naughty word good boys dont use it and leave it at that.

I'm in the naughty moms club I'm awful for my language, again its habbit. To be fair though, Ive not had any problems with my kids picking up naughty words, and if they did they realise they are adults words.

I'm not going to sit and lie and say 'I'm holier than thou, cos I'm not'
