Question about rabbits

Grace loves rabbits. She loves watching them on tv and gets really excited when she sees one. Even her comforter is a toy bunny. I really want to get one, possibly later on this year around September time mainly because Grace would be older then. But we live right next to marshland which means that there are a lot of foxes and also a lot of mosquitos in the summer. My auntie moved down this way a couple of years ago and they had a rabbit in a cage outside and one night during the summer it literally got eaten alive by mosquitos so if I got one I wouldn't be able to keep it outside. This might be a stupid question but can you keep a rabbit inside? And if so where (wouldn't be in the main part of the house btw lol)

I love indoor rabbits .. haven't any at the mo but used to years ago.

Mine had a huge indoor cage for at night but would hop round the house during the day .. they can be litter trained etc, I used to let mine into a run in the garden during the summer when i was about so they could eat grass etc

Thanks, glad I'm not being stupid lol well there's 3 places I could keep one. I have a garage, a small shed and a conservatory. The only thing about the conservatory is that on a sunny day it's like a sauna in there and at night or in the winter it's freezing, not sure how well rabbits deal with temperature control lol

all the rabbits ive had have been house rabbits and their main room as been the frontroom, id also have a cage in there or the kitchen aswel to put them in at night ect.

we also had a litter box and the rabbit would sometimes use that, she didnt like being trained, but we had one rabbit who would come to us wen we called his name and would sleep in my mums bed he was great.

zanes like this with dogs he loves them and is so gentle with his dog toy. its so cute

Don't mean to be picky ... but i would think that is far to small for a rabbit.. especially a house rabbit... I only say this cos i had a guniea pig in one and he looked quite cramped, and ended up outside lol.
I have had two house rabbits,(not at the same time) that quite literally lived inside my house freely, ( litter trained)
and one that lived in my house with my cats lol...
You have to be careful with rabbits, then can be fussy buggers lol, i had one rabbit years ago (outdoor one) and it was a vicious little prat, bit and kicked for no reason, would never ever let u pick her up.
A rabbit bite can be quite nasty... you pick a really nice calm tame one tho,
and it would make an ace pet !
You could keep it in the kitchen ? like under the stairs ? or something.. (i don't mean in a cupboard tho lol :P )one of my cats spent the night in conservatory and nearly died in the morning from the heat!

I don't like guinea pigs, they freak me out for some reason lol I wouldn't have Grace handling it so I wouldn't need to worry about it hurting her. And if I were to get one, I would probably get a biggish cage

I have an indoor rabbit! I love her! She's my second one. She's a Netherland Dwarf (only about 2 pounds) and she's in an oversized cage. I take her out for exercise a few times a day.

Our friend's children LOVE her! When they come to visit, I take her out of the cage and have them hold her and pet her. Not too long though because Shadow gets a bit nervous, so I just let them hold her for a short time.

But they are alot of fun. I get a kick out of my bunny. She's a messy little thing though...I clean her cage every other day and she still throws her poop out of the cage. I'm always vacuuming because my dogs then like to eat the poop.

I had two house bunnies before i had LO. They were my babies before her lol. We had the same problem as you, theres a lot of land around us and foxes are always on the back field, so i kept them i the 'outhouse' (dont really know what to call it lol, its a room on the side of our kitchen!) I used a proper hutch as there isn't central heating in there, otherwise would have got an indoor hutch. I used to just open the backdoor and they'd come running into the living room, and funnily they always ran back into 'their' room to do a poop!

They were more like dogs, they used to sit at my feet looking up so id pick them up to sit on my knee and would scratch at the living door to be let in haha

I'm going to get LO one when we move house in next couple of months but i am going to keep outside this time as its a lovely little enclsed garden and i can't stand the saw dust gettng everywhere with them running about!
